Western Design Conference Logo

The Western Design Conference (WDC) has become known as the world’s preeminent exhibition of western furniture, fashion and accessories. Not only does it act as a venue for the current state of western design, but also as a catalyst for the genre’s evolution. Founded over a decade ago by western enthusiasts, the Western Design Conference was established to perpetuate the best traditions of western design and craft through education, economic opportunities and the exchange of ideas. Norseman Designs West has received 10 awards at the Western Design Conference, including Best of Show, People’s Choice, Exhibitors’ Choice, and the Switchback Purchase Award.

CWB Logo

Each year, Custom Woodworking Business Magazine sponsors the CWB Design Portfolio Awards competition to recognize the top custom woodworking projects submitted in each of five categories. Judges select winners from hundreds of nationally submitted entries. Winning projects are selected on the basis of appearance and quality of construction. NDW was among the national winners in the 2002 and 2004 Design Portfolio Awards competitions.

Adirondack Museum Logo

The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, New York, is renowned for the breadth of its collections that include historic artifacts, photographs, archival materials, and fine art documenting the Adirondack region's past. Talented artists from across the United States bring highly prized craftsmanship and creative expression to the one-of-a-kind rustic designs exhibited and sold at the Adirondack Museum’s Annual Rustic Fair, the largest event of its kind in the Northeast. John's cantilevered desk, Spirit Tree III, was named both the People's Choice and Exhibitor's Choice at the Adirondack Museum's 2007 Rustic Fair.

High Desert Museum Rendezvous

The High Desert Museum in Bend, Oregon, is nationally acclaimed for inspiring and fostering stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of the High Desert. It offers close-up wildlife encounters, living history, art and culture exhibitions, workshops and classes for all ages. Its annual Rendezvous Art & Design Show & Auction features exceptional Western fine art, beautiful jewelry and accessories, and exquisite, high-end custom furniture. NDW received the Judges' Award at the 2007 Rendezvous for their desk, chair, and lamp.

BBHC Logo

Founded in 1917, Buffalo Bill Historical Center (BBHC) has become a nationally recognized cultural and educational institution. The Center features five unique museums and a research library: Buffalo Bill Museum, Whitney Gallery of Western Art, Plains Indian Museum, Cody Firearms Museum, Draper Museum of Natural History, and McCracken Research Library. Annual attendance averages more than 200,000 visitors, and more than 25,000 students of all ages participate in the Center’s full yearly schedule of symposia and classes.

Western style may have been firmly rooted in the imaginations of Thomas Molesworth and Edward Bohlin, but it by no means ends with them. It is a vital, dynamic presence in Yellowstone Country today as shown in a special exhibition titled "Cody Style: A Western Decorative Arts Tradition." John's Teton Settee has been purchased by the BBHC and is included in the Cody Style exhibit.
