About the Artist... Janet Bedford
Janet Hamilton Bedford was born in New Jersey in 1936. Her persistent dream of seeing the Rocky Mountains came to realization in 1981 and her art has reflected her love of the western wildlife, landscape and lifestyle ever since. Janet showed artistic talent as a young child and studied with noted New Jersey artist Edwin D. Mott while still under the age of ten. Later, portrait studies were with Jacques Turner of New York and Paris. Otherwise, she is largely self-taught.
Janet had a long career in graphic arts working in advertising, preprint production and as an editorial artist for a major New Jersey newspaper before relocating to Wyoming in 1986. Since that time, she has been pursuing her career in painting, sculpting and doing varied contract work for custom western furniture designers. As a result, she has works scattered from Disneyworld to Japan. Her paintings were in a two person show at Northwest College in 1996. Two large pieces, purchased by First National Bank of Powell, are in the bank president's office. She has participated in numerous regional shows including the Cody Country Art League
(Shoshone Bank Purchase Award in 1986), Carbon County Arts Guild and the Western Spirit show in Cheyenne. In 1999, one painting was selected for publication in "Art of the American West" (Rockport Publishers). In 2000, Janet was one of 13 invited artists participating in the Wyoming Arts Council's travelling Artbox exhibit, "Animal Stories." Her entries in the Wyoming Conservation Stamp Competition have made the "Top 40" four times including 4th Place for the 2003 stamp.

About the Artist... James Marsico
James Marsico is a full time artist and sculptor. He really loves his life and creating art only next to God and family. Since 1976, he has owned and operated his own studio and gallery, Mountain Valley Artistry, in Cody, Wyoming.
James has been honored with several fine art awards. His sculptures are shipped worldwide! He has several international collectors. The first of his commissioned life-size elk bronzes was recently shipped to a collector in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition, museums, including the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C.,
display his work. At the Smithsonian, James directed the mounting and installation of a new pronghorn antelope diorama. This diorama includes the life-size custom mounts of a complete family of pronghorns. James and his wife Bernie collected the flora and fauna for the diorama near his home here in Wyoming. Thousands of people walk past this national exhibit everyday.
