After nearly a decade of continued growth, John Gallis has relocated his custom Western furniture manufacturing business, Norseman Designs West, to a
larger facility in Cody.
“We outgrew the old place and wanted to hire additional craftsmen,” John explained. He said it takes about a month to build a desk, and at its old shop
Norseman Designs West was only able to produce 12-14 desks annually.
The bulldozers were pushing dirt and construction started at the beginning of the year (2006). The new building and all of the moves were completed
by mid-May (2006).
At roughly 5,000 square-feet, the new location at 3532 Cottonwood Avenue is over twice the size of Norseman Designs West‘s previous home at 38 County
Road 2AB and provides the space needed for future growth. The new construction features an expanded shop area, office space, and a new product
showroom.
“We're very excited about this move," John said. "Moving into a larger space, being able to better organize and having dedicated spaces for our
materials and machines will really help us continue to maintain a strong presence in Western furniture market." |
